At the year 1989, the 17th of November the demonstrations against the one-party government started in Prague streets. Protestors were not violent, that’s how did the Velvet Revolution earned its name. The Velvet Revolution took place in Czechoslovakia but also other Socialist Bloc countries.

This November is the 30th year of the Velvet Revolution. Festival of Freedom (Festival Svobody) will be the main event in the Czech Republic through November (www.festivalsvobody.cz)
